Freedom fighters Family Pension raised by Rs. 1000 per month

Family Pension of Freedom Fighters has been enhanced by Rs. 1000 per month, the Lok Sabha was informed today.

Basic monthly pension of freedom fighters and spouses of deceased freedom fighters has been enhanced by Rs.1000 per month and the dearness relief admissible to them increased from 44 per cent to 50 per cent with effect from August 15,2005.

Minister of State for Home Affairs Manikrao Gavit said in written reply that formal orders have been issued on September 9, this year.

To a specific query whether the official circular had not reached the Treasury Offices in many districts of Norther Eastern Region, Mr Gavit said "no such information had been received." BIOTIC FENCING: Meanwhile, MOS in Home Affairs S Regupathy informed that the ministry had not received any proposal regarding replacement of barbed wire fencing with thorny bamboo fencing along Indo-Bangladesh border.
