Kohima: Manipur Pollution Control Board Employees' Association has urged the Regional Provident Fund Commission, NE Region, Guwahati for giving information regarding the accounts positions of the members under the EPF scheme.

In a memorandum submitted to the Commissioner on the occasion of workshop cum awareness programme on Employees' Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 at the conference hall of Hotel Excellency here today, the Association pointed out that the regular employees of Manipur Pollution Control Board deposited the necessary amount in connection with the EPF contribution to the said Board since March 1999.

However, the employees are not given any information on their contribution card/account position and other related details since the date of the coverage under the scheme.

The introduction of the Employees Provident Fund in the year 1999 was for the welfare of the staff of the Board and the money are being deducted from the monthly salary of the employees for the said purpose regularly, the representation signed by Association secretary T Netrajit Singh observed.

But inspite of regular contribution made under the EPF scheme, the authority concerned has not disclosed or informed the members of their account positions, the representation lamented, while asserting that it is an act of negligence on the part of the authority concerned.
