4.5 per cent Haryana population gets old age pension

In Haryana, 4.56 per cent of the total population is the beneficiary of the old age pension.

Another 1.72 per cent of the population is getting widow pension and 0.41 per cent people are beneficiary of the handicapped pension in the state, according to Haryana Social Welfare Minister Kartar Devi.

As per Census-2001, the total population of the state is 21,144,564.

A maximum of 5.75 per cent beneficiaries of old age pension are in district Narnaul, followed by 5.74 per cent in district Fatehabad, 5.65 per cent in district Sirsa, 5.57 per cent in district Jind and 5.48 per cent in district Kaithal, 5.35 per cent in district Rohtak and 5.29 per cent in district Jhajjar.

Among the beneficiaries of widow pension, 2.22 in per cent are in Kaithal district, 2.02 in Jind, 1.93 in Kurukshetra, 1.88 in Karnal and 1.76 in Sonepat.

In case of beneficiaries of handicapped pension, 0.61 per cent are in Kurukshetra district, 0.45 in Yamunanagar, 0.44 in Kaithal, 0.38 in Karnal and 0.36 per cent in Ambala district.
